New Metal Slug
New Metal Slug is basically a one level remake of SNK's famous arcade platformer with updated graphics. The knife has been replaced with a pan which can be used to knock out enemies, although we probably will never find a use for the five empty slots at the bottom of the screen.

Keys can be remapped by clicking on the third option in the main menu. Three difficulty levels are presented to the player after the playing instructions are shown. The animation is smooth but controls are slightly unresponsive at times.

Very smooth and fun gameplay, with level design most reminiscent of the original game (which I think is the most consistent and best designed, if myabe not the most wildly entertaining).

But I have to say that I prefer the graphics of the original, despite these being very good drawings and animation, and what's with the soundtrack? Metal Slug is all about the ROCK!

I hesitated about posting this at first because it's not an original game and I couldn't find the link on the developer's web site. But the quality is pretty good and there was a visitor who asked about games similar to Konami's Metal Slug series.

And you're right. They need to add more levels and a rocking soundtrack!
